It was 5 am and I was looking out the window admiring a paint store building their new shop and wondering how I was going to go back to work and also raise the baby I was nursing. That is the moment the idea of Beansprouts began. I called my family that day and told them my grand plan. I was going to start a children's consignment shop on Main Street and bring him with me to work. They asked how sleep deprived I was and how I was going to pull that plan together? I didn't know. But I had the vision, it was clear and I immediately started planning. Everything took longer than expected, cost more than I thought and looked a bit different than it did in my head. But I like a challenge and I am hardworking, stubborn and resourceful.
Beansprouts opened at 4305 Main Street on April 21, 2003. Estevan was 1 1/2 years old and by the photos you can tell he was the manager from the start. The prepping, sorting, planning, building and learning was steep and really it has never stopped...
